My name is Diego, and I understand firsthand the unique challenges that come with adapting to life in a new country. I’m married to a former Au Pair, and together we are raising two wonderful children. Family means everything to me, and that same care, patience, and dedication is at the heart of every driving lesson I provide.

With over 20 years of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), I bring a strong background in safety, quick decision-making, and dependable driving in all situations. Throughout my career, I became known for my calm approach, excellent driving skills, and ability to remain patient under pressure—qualities that now guide how I teach behind the wheel.

At Behind the Wheel Lessons by Diego, my mission is to help Au Pairs feel confident, safe, and fully prepared to drive in the United States. Each lesson is supportive, professional, and tailored to the student’s skill level. I focus on:

• Building confidence and independence behind the wheel
• Teaching U.S. road rules and traffic laws
• Practicing defensive driving techniques
• Parking, merging, and highway driving
• Emphasizing safety for both driver and passengers

For host families, my goal is simple: to give you peace of mind knowing your Au Pair is learning to drive safely, responsibly, and with the guidance of an experienced driver.

Driving in a new country can be intimidating, but with the right support, it can also be empowering. I’m here to make that transition smoother—for Au Pairs and the families who welcome them.
